That transition from the city to open landscape

This is something I made to represent those transitions when traveling by car when I experience that moment when city opens up to a natural big sky landscape. That moment when that transition happens in mind is quite powerful and cleansing.
Willem de Kooning

It's a feeling of once sharp outlines that transition into a foggy natural lighter openness.

The first moments of the fragrance are quiet sharp (from the heavy use of Galbanum and Vetiver) and anchored (from the Cedarwood Atlas) - as it dries it gets more floral (from the Ylang Yang and Lindenblossom (G)), airy from the scentenal, auranone and velvione and earthy from the patchouli.

A light, easy effect of a bright, dry, salty breeze comes from the Ambroxan, Citral and Hexyl Salicylate accord.

Feel free to mix it up and let me know what you think.

Eau Sauvage - The Garden of the Blind

There is a garden where an infinite variety of birds sing all morning, ignoring any need for feeding, while flying is the only joy of the early gentle breezes and bright light - the wonderful feathered pulses.

In that garden a certain freshness calms the nervous minded poet capturing his senses with humid fragrances as bees levitate past his eye from marvelously colored flowers and green grasses.

Everything speaks of sunlight so loudly and splendidly one has to close the eyes to truly see the beauty around them and one has to inhale deeply to get a true picture of the liveliness abounding and dancing in every direction.

The garden is dense yet one can easily move through it without taking a step. The dew never fully evaporates and the colors never cease to dim. It's not an imaginary place ... it's quite real and might even be right behind you without you realizing it.

Chapitre : Olga Tschechowa : Eau de Toilette pour Homme

  CHAPITRE

 Olga Tschechowa
Eau de Toilette pour Homme
1960

Vintage : 1960, 200 ML Bottle

I have to admit that I bought this more for the bottle than the fragrance. First it was old as far as fragrances go. This particular bottle is from the 1960's. As many people know it is risky to purchase an old fragrance especially if you don't smell it before you buy it.

There was something of a built in allure to this one for even before first sniff. It was a fragrance that carried the name of Olga Tschechowa. One of only four fragrances to carry that house's name. It's a name steeped in classic movie history and a name associated with fresh and sometimes mysterious beauty.

Is it possible for an Eau de Toilette authored by the olfactory sensibilities of a mysteriously beautiful silent screen actress to live up to any kind of promise one might have before unscrewing the golden fluer de lis embossed cap? The odds are not very good but sometimes those odds work out as did this gem of fragrance.

Whoever owned this bottle before must have take good care of it. Or it must hae be stored away and hidden in a dark box for ages. Because the fragrance that tickled my nose was as delightfully surprising and refreshing as a Chopin's Berceuse Op.57 in D Flat.

I was amazed that some of the Bimbi citrus freshness was still soulful and bodacious. It was bright yet dirty and age had definitely treated it well. It was smoothed and mellowed in a way that only age can accomplish.

HI I'm ISOO KOOL

I'm starting this Blog dedicated to the beautiful and sometimes out of the ordinary fragrance experiences out there for people with an artistic lean. I will write about fragrance mainly geared towards men who want to know more about fragrance they likely won't find in the pages of a magazine.

I'll also have some input on women's fragrances that are actually great for men and some masculine fragrances that are wonderful on women throw in hear and there for the more courageous who aren't afraid to try great fragrances that are so good they transcend the barrier of hers or his.

The fragrance articles will also be complimented by some art, outsider culture, fragrance artist interviews and cologne making tips thrown in for kicks. It should be a fun mix for people who enjoy fragrances of all kinds. I hope you enjoy the site as it grows and leave your feedback of what you might want to see.

Best Regards,
ISOO KOOL
